Dr. Brett Fried, DPM
I was born and raised (alongside my twin
brother) by my father in Staten Island,
New York. Watching my grandfather deal
with diabetes on a daily basis, I
quickly appreciated the field of
Medicine and eventually attended Medical
school at the prestigious New York
College of Podiatric Medicine in
Manhattan, NY.
After medical school, my residency
career started in New York City where my
time was spent at four major hospitals:
Metropolitan hospital (Manhattan),
Lincoln Hospital (Bronx), Harlem
Hospital (Manhattan), and The Podiatric
Surgical Clinic (NYCPM, Manhattan). One
accomplishment that I am most proud of
during that time was my contribution in
helping those affected in the tragedy of
9/11. Hundreds upon thousands NYC
firefighters, police officers, members
of the armed forces, EMS workers and
civilians wounded at Ground Zero came to
the medical station in St. Paul’s
Cathedral to be treated. I, along with
other podiatric/medical specialists, put
forth countless hours treating the
wounded in the symbolic pew where our
first president, George Washington,
attended weekly services.
After my two years of surgical training
in NY, I moved to Smyrna, Georgia.
There, I furthered my surgical skills by
completing a reconstructive foot and
ankle residency program, which was
associated with several hospitals and
surgical centers in Georgia. During my
time there I took a trip back to NYC at
which time I married my wife, Jessica.
Jessica has been with me since my
college days and has experienced & seen
me through this medical journey. As an
addition to our family my son Jacob
Louis was born in January of 2009 with
another child on the way due in May.
We then headed further south to Florida
where my podiatric professional career
began with South Florida Foot and Ankle
Centers. I am currently on Staff at
several of the surrounding hospitals
including JFK, Bethesda, Palms West,
Wellington, and Columbia.
I am currently an active member of the
American Podiatric medical association,
American college of foot and ankle
surgeons, and the JCC in West Palm
Beach. I also serve on the executive
committee of the Palm Beach County
Podiatric Medical Association. I am
Board qualified with the American board
of podiatric surgery, and I am fully
licensed in the state of Florida.
