Dr. Jennifer Kazamias

Dr. Jennifer Kazamias grew up in the beautiful Susquehanna River valley city of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania where she attended Bishop McDevitt High School. She graduated in the top 10 percent of her high school class with course work in advanced placement science classes. She went on to attend La Salle University in Philadelphia where she was elected for membership in the Alpha Epsilon Delta National Health Pre-professional Honor Society and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology.

Prior to attending medical school, Dr. Kazamias worked for The American Red Cross in Rockville, Maryland in conjunction with the National Bone Marrow Registry and National Institutes of Health, correlating genetic disease with HLA blood types. In Maryland, she did volunteer work as a counselor and academic adviser for troubled teens. She then accepted a position at Wyeth–Ayerst laboratories in Marietta, Pennsylvania as an assistant biologist in vaccine research. It was during this time that she decided to leave the lab and pursue a career in medicine and surgery.

Dr. Kazamias attended Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida, on a four-year partial scholarship for excellence in academics where she earned her DPM degree. She was a member of Pi Delta, the National Podiatric Honor Society and graduated fourth in her class. While at Barry, she served in leadership positions as class president and vice-president of the Florida Podiatric Medical Students Association. She earned several scholarships and awards for leadership and academics during her attendance.

Dr. Kazamias completed a podiatric surgical residency at Hollywood Medical Center in Broward County, Florida where she served as chief resident. She spent more than ten years gaining clinical experience in private practice in Boca Raton, Florida. Driven to pursue further advancement of surgical skills, she took leave from private practice to study reconstructive rearfoot surgery at Aventura Hospital and Medical Center in Miami-Dade County. There she completed a third year of surgical training learning advanced techniques in foot and ankle surgery, wound care and limb salvage. Additionally, she gained experience in sclerotherapy in an office-based setting to provide therapeutic and cosmetic treatment for spider, reticular and small varicose veins.

Living in the South Florida area for over 20 years, she considers herself a native. She enjoys swimming, biking and rollerblading as well as spending time with her husband, family and friends. Her interests include gourmet cooking, gardening and healthy living.
